Excerpt from, 'Emotional Values"

This piece shows you how to maximize the power of emotion
to create better results in your work.

"...As an actor, I have to bring many different emotional "colors" to my work. The more I can do that, the more interesting and the more marketable I am. You have to do the same thing.

As you concentrate on expanding your emotional repertoire, don't be afraid of contradictory emotions. Some people, accustomed to feelings of strength or competitiveness, sometimes feel that tenderness or spontaneity is a sign of weakness so they avoid those feelings at all costs. In certain situations those emotions actually may indicate weakness, but there are moments in life when tenderness and spontaneity are signs of strength. My experience has shown that tenderness and spontaneity in times of pressure signify a conviction that is not rattled by unforeseen events. That sounds like strength to me. To perform to your fullest potential, all emotional colors must be available to you."

Excerpt from, "Back to the Future"

Here you’ll learn the value of using elements from past success in a way
builds brand new success today.

"...We must live in this moment and do our best with what is presented to us right now. But, past triumphs can still teach us long after they’re gone. You can reach back and pull nuggets from those experiences that can help you through any current dilemma. Just so long as you use what you did only to stimulate the process and develop a new result, one that applies to a new reality.

Actors famously use techniques from the past in a new situation. But they only use them to build a new and unique performance that has only now come alive. Use that same idea the next time you’re stranded in that place where new ideas have escaped you."
