“..playing a guy who builds tunnels under NYC was fun but exhausting. It was July in LA and it was really hot. Most days in the 90’s. I even ended up in the emergency room one night after getting dehydrated. It ended up just being a bad night, I was fine. The cave we used for the underground shots was the Bat Cave from the old Batman TV series. That was pretty cool.”
The Clearing
“…got to work with one of the finest actresses in the world, Helen Mirren. She is also one of the nicest people I’ve ever worked with. So generous and welcoming, she immediately puts you at ease and we focus on the work. At one point, when we began to rehearse our scene, it was her and I and the director alone in the room. I was tempted to pinch myself, but I just enjoyed the heck out of it. The chance to work that closely with an actress of her caliber – wow!”

“…Jamie Foxx was so good it made it real easy. You just love working with actors who are that good. It enables me to just be in the moment and use the reality that’s been created. You forget about all the distractions and just focus on playing the scene. The director, Taylor Hackford, was very impressive with his easy going command of his work. He also knew we had something in common – he is married to Helen Mirren, who I had just worked with. “I heard you just worked with my wife,” he said. “Yes, I did and she could not have been nicer,” I replied. I went on to say what a treat it was to work with a star who is as kind as we she is talented. Needless to say, he agreed.”
Conviction
“…got to do a death scene! A gun battle erupts in the courtroom and I take the gun of one of the bad guys and shoot him. But, he’s not completely dead and I take one shot in the back. You then see me talking of seeing my murdered daughter as I take my last few breaths. Only in the movies can you have this fun shooting people, taking a shot and dying.”
Spaceballs
“.. how lucky you are when you have a job that requires you to come to work and think up ways to be funny! This was a really fun experience. Lots of very talented actors and Mel Brooks running the show. He was very kind to me and I was very impressed with his passion and his sense of humor. Some days you just laughed so hard you couldn’t work.”
Law & Order (Dr. Petravian, Randall Stoller)
“..even Sam Waterston said to me that this scene wasn’t a fair fight. They were trying to make a statement about recent events detailing horrible conditions at military hospitals. This character was going to be the scapegoat. All in all, it was a good scene, but I wish my character could have put up more of a fight. Maybe when I get my own show….”
We Are Marshall (Coach Bobby Bowden)
“… what a tremendous honor to play Coach Bobby Bowden. I’ve always had a lot of respect for him as both a man and a coach. The details of this story just confirmed my admiration. What he did for the Marshall program after their horrible tragedy, is the height of selflessness. It was a thrill to tell that story.”
